The "Klingende Sammlung"

... comprises ca 1600 wind instruments and drums from three centuries. There are very rare objects, including classical horns and flutes, the prototype of an alto saxophone in F from 1853 by its inventor Adolphe Sax, and some of the first instruments produced by Swiss manufacturers.

It is based on the wind instrument collection of Karl Burri and includes other collections such as the collection of the wind instrument maker Hirsbrunner Sumiswald and flute collection of Ueli Halder. read more...

Play our instruments

Wind instruments such as alphorn, rackett or theremin can be played in our exhibition. In workshops, instruction is available.
